Keynote Authors appearing:

Elmer Kelton - Author of over 40 novels, and published over more than 50 years. Three of Kelton's novels have appeared in Reader's Digest Condensed Books. Four books have won the Western Heritage Award from the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and seven have won the Spur Award from the Western Writers of America. One of his books, The Good ole Boys, was made into a movie starring Tommy Lee Jones! Read more about him at:

Tumbleweed Smith -  Writer, radio show host, and more... That's Tumbleweed Smith! Tumbleweed has done his nationally syndicated radio show for over 30 years, and has written numerous books, newspaper columns, magazine articles, and more. Recognized by the Texas State Legislature, Smith is held in high regards, and has been the subject of many influential publications. Read more about him at:

Barbara Clack - Barbra Clack is an artist and a teacher. She has taught art on the Navajo Indian Reservation in Shiprock, New Mexico; in economically disadvantaged communities in the Ozark Mountains; and in Texas’ public schools. Winner of the National Association of Parenting Publication Award, she currently has three books published by Bright Sky Press: The Pledge of Allegiance, Good Night Cowboy, and Good Night Cowgirl. Barbra is currently a third-grade classroom teacher and campus technology consultant.  She also teaches a five-week summer art class called My Dog Could Do That! for high school students at The Old Jail Art Center, in Albany, Texas.


Charles Chupp - Noted author, artists, and down-home philospher, Charles Chupp was employed as a right-of-way negotiator by a major electric company for 35 years. Now retired, he resides in his rural hometown of De Leon, and has returned to his love of writing. Charles currently has 5 books published, and writes a weekly newspaper column as well. Join us for the 2008 Outlaw Run! Races of 5K and 10K are offered, with both starting and ending at the Comanche Courthouse Square. Both races are UTSAF certified, and cash awards will be given in each race! Registration begins at 7:00 A.M., and races begin at 8:00 A.M.

Tickets for the All-Class Reunion Vino & Vittles Celebration at Brennan Vineyards are $35.00 per person and include two glasses of Brennan Vineyards wine, sliced brisket with a cranberry chipotle BBQ sauce, sliced rosemary and garlic rubbed chicken breast, bacon cheddar potato salad, seasoned pinto beans, cornbread muffins with whipped butter, assorted dessert bars, coffee and iced tea. The dinner will be prepared by Brennan Vineyards in-house chef, Chef Casey Rowlett of Brownwood. Space is limited, so please complete your reservation card, and return it promptly!
