Western Tales & Trails

Please join us on Saturday, May 17th for the annual Comanche Main Street Festival, “Comanche Celebrates…Western Tales & Trails”. The focus of Western Tales & Trails 2008 will feature Western authors and storytellers, historical reenactments, heritage demonstrations, musical entertainment, dance troupes, information booths, the exciting 5K & 10K Outlaw Run, Children’s’ Fun Run, wagon rides, youth activities, and food vendors. The festival concludes at the end of the day with the annual Comanche High School All-Class Reunion at Brennan Vineyards.

Comanche Main Street events, such as "Western Tales & Trails", allows the Comanche Main Street Program to provide funds for downtown businesses within the Central Business District in the form of Facade Improvement Grants, Signage Grants, Marketing, and Design assistance. A portion of the proceeds from these events also support other areas of the Comanche Main Street Program in addition to providing assistance for the restoration and rehabilitation of the 1912 Comanche Frisco Depot.

Comanche entered the Texas Main Street Program in 2002, and is one of the few communities nationwide that has received National Accreditation from the National Trust For Historic Preservation.
